About the Project
HubSpot engaged Henry J Lyons to design an Irish Headquarters that would be a home for their growing Product and Engineering team, affectionately known as ‘Dubspot’. The new floors currently accommodate 90 people with space to grow to 160.
The brief required that a variety of workspaces and collaboration areas were provided, as well as the provision of support spaces to perimeter areas. Also included is a 275-seat conference space, that would host the company’s EMEA events. The ‘Higgens’ conference space is located on ground floor and is designed to be multi-functional. Taking advantage of the impressive 4.1m height on this level, there is tiered seating to the rear. Loose seating fills the remainder of the space. A linking corridor connects the reception and events canteen, both visible across the atrium. Workspaces occupy the rest of the ground floor and are serviced by a centralised breakout zone to the rear, as well as support spaces including meeting rooms, phone booths and open collaboration points.
Level 2 accommodates the ‘Dubspot’ product team. The large central atrium plays a crucial role on this floor and has been used as a core for the re-fuel station, ‘living room’ and ‘interactive zone’. The interactive zone is visible upon entry and from ground level and features a mix of mesh screens providing privacy for informal meetings or simply away from the desk, quiet workspaces. The ‘living room’ – a no-work area in the centre of the floorplate encourages interaction between employees, with the opportunity to socialise and play foosball or Xbox in a lounge-type setting. All meeting rooms and focus booths feature video-conferencing facilities allowing the HubSpot team to connect easily with the world-wide Hubspot team.
