About the Project

This project involved the complete remodelling of an existing production facility to accommodate Zimmer’s second manufacturing facility in Ireland. As principal contractor, Kirby had overall responsibility for design, engineering and construction services for the full fit-out of the new 100,000sq. ft manufacturing facility.

Kirby employed Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) tools and Building Information Modelling (BIM) in order to successfully integrate all elements of design across all services. We appointed the civils/building contractor and specialist cleanroom vendor. Manpower peaked at 96.

Kirby was responsible for all process and utility equipment, including positioning and alignment, and undertook all associated hook-up detail. We were also responsible for the testing and commissioning of all services ready for hand-over to our client.
